About Kyra

Kyra was just a few weeks away from her 21st birthday when she passed away unexpectedly from a previously undiagnosed type of heart disease called cardiomyopathy. While we will never understand why Kyra was taken from us so young we want to make sure she is never forgotten. We have created the Kyra Peck Memorial Fund to honor the amazing, loving and caring person she was. Through this fund we will grant scholarships to athletes who play club volleyball for Colorado Volleyball Association and to students that are graduating from Rock Canyon High School and continuing their education at a University.

Kyra was a ray of sunshine in everyone’s lives. From young babies to aging adults, her smile was sure to brighten anyone’s day. She simply loved life and people and the number of lives she touched is simply amazing. Kyra liked nothing more than to spend time with friends and family and cherished each and every get together. From family gatherings to parties and concerts or just simply hanging out, Kyra created so many amazing memories.

Kyra was an avid sports fan. Growing up she played multiple sports before finding volleyball which she played at both the club and varsity levels. In addition to playing sports, Kyra eagerly cheered on her favorite teams, whether it was at Rock Canyon High School, her University of Colorado Buffs teams, Denver Broncos or Denver Nuggets.

Kyra had an amazing love and connection with children. From when she was not much more than a toddler herself to her years working at a daycare, there was a special connection Kyra had with babies. They brought her pure joy and they all absolutely loved her. We still have parents that share stories of the bond she had with their kids.

While life will never be the same without our sweet Kyra, we hope to honor her and the amazing person she was and make sure she is never forgotten.
